In the days before mobile phones, computers and other electronic wizardry, there was one thing that all the children were agreed on – the Toy Shop really was the best shop in town. From floor to ceiling, there were toys and games galore and the shop keeper was always happy to demonstrate and let the kids have a go. Dover Patrol, Scalextric, Meccano and Action Man were favourites with the boys whilst the girls dreamed of owning the Doll’s House or dressing a Barbie.
